Violent Film (Maribel Zapata Rosel)

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

The island of Berk is a Viking Village that is plagued with attacks from dragons.  Hipo is the son of the Village leader but he is unable to kill the helpless animal.
Hipo finds a dragon but it is hurt; the dragon can’t fly normally and Hipo discovers a way to gain the dragon’s confidence and begins  to take care of it also Hipo has to complete a class to kill dragons and he completes the class and gets the chance to kill a dragon in front of the Villagers . Hipo doesn´t want to kill dragons because they are beautiful animals and he has special feelings to them so he finally persuades villagers to stop killing them.
This is a beautiful film where the Vikings are trained to kill dragons but one teenager Viking (Hipo) who has to kill a dragon for his father, discovers the truth about these animals. His father is disappointed that his son can’t meet the physical standard of the typical Vikings.: he is not skilled in handling weapons but Hipo has other valuable virtues he is  intelligent and respectful but these are not qualities much appreciated for common Vikings. The film shows the end of the war between Vikings and dragons.

In my opinion, the film teaches to avoid violence to animals and to accept the virtues of your own child. This movie shows that not all Vikings are bad and that they also have feelings.
