Welcome to this workshop which is intended to give you some information about words and some practice to learn more about these fascinating units of language.
Warm-up.
The first activity is focused on introducing yourselves using meaningful words, so you are doing the following:
1. Think of 5 words that describe you in a general way. You may open a word document and type your list.
2. Describe yourself to the group using your 5 words.
3. Now, get into an online dictionary such as dictionary.com, and find the meaning to each of the words in your list, find a synonym and an antonym.
4. Write a short paragraph describing yourself using synonym or antonym words in your description. Use punctuation marks!
5. Read your paragraph to the class.
